The Provincial Government supports the Earth Explorer project. As an innovative project with a leverage effect for culture and tourism in the region, it has been granted a subsidy of 1.25 million euros from a fund for regional projects with international importance. Other examples of such large-scale projects are the In Flanders Fields museum in Ieper , the new museum section of the IJzer Tower monument in Diksmuide, and the Dunes Abbey in Koksijde. The Provincial Government hopes that Earth Explorer will develop into a unique attraction for the province, providing an outstanding example of collaboration between various government bodies on the one hand and the private sector on the other.
